With their triumph against Norway, the French women’s team claimed their third world championship title! Caisse d’Epargne, a partner of the French Handball Federation since 2015, extends its gratulations to the entire team for this historic victory.
2003, 2017 and now 2023: twenty years after becoming world champions for the first time in Zagreb, and seven years after winning their second championship title in Hamburg, France has been crowned Women’s Handball World Champion for the third time in its history following its triumph over Norway on December 17 in Denmark. The victory came at the end of a tough series of championship matches and represented a fitting end to a year in which the French team remained unbeaten. It was also the first time that the French women emerged victorious from all their matches in a World Championship tournament (9 matches in all).
The team coached by Olivier Krumbholz took control of the match at the end of the first half and maintained their lead until the final whistle to win 31-28. A fitting revenge after their defeat by the same Norwegian team two years ago.
Proud of being a major partner of the French Handball Federation since 2015, Caisse d’Epargne shared the excitement of the matches with all the supporters of the French team as they thrilled us with their progress through the different championship matches. Congratulations and all our thanks for enabling us to share these breath-taking moments with you.
