A collective to speed up work on APIs

Monday, 18 may 2020

“Collectif API Thinking” is the name of the collective set up just recently on May 6 on the initiative of the teams in the Digital & Data Division of Groupe BPCE.

The first collective dedicated to APIs, it includes members from a number of other financial institutions – La Banque Postale, Crédit Agricole, Société Générale, ING, HSBC, My Money Bank, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Crédit Mutuel CIC, BNP Paribas, CBP Group and SmartPush – as well as the MAIF insurance company, all of which have already launched their own API initiatives.
Following the creation of Groupe BPCE’s API portal in March 2019, the API Thinking collective, working under the aegis of the Payment Services Directive (PSD2), rounds off the Group’s Open banking and API action regarding the opening up of information systems within a secure and regulated framework.

“The collective is open. The aim is to capitalize on the pooling of experience, best practices and ideas to move forward collectively in the field of APIs,” said Julien Bichon, Head of APIs in the Digital & Data Division.

We would like to remind readers that an API (Application Programming Interface) is an IT solution that allows applications to connect and exchange data and services with each other. APIs are assembled to create new services and user experiences.
