For the past few weeks, sixteen buses have been accepting this innovative payment solution launched by the Caisse d’Epargne CEPAC and Natixis Payments.
This connected, universal and accessible form of mobility enables passengers to pay and validate their journeys directly on the bus, using their contactless payment method (debit/credit card, smartphone, connected watch, etc.) instead of a ticket. The validation action is identical to that of passengers with tickets, but on ticket validators dedicated to Open Payment.
Next September, the entire Aix-en-Provence bus network (180 additional buses) will be able to benefit from this new system. If successful, the experiment will be extended to other lines in the metropolitan network.
The launch of contactless payment on the La Métropole Mobilité (Metropolitan Mobility) network brings together different entities: the Aix-Marseille Provence greater urban area, the authority organizing mobility on its territory, Keolis Pays d’Aix, the Caisse d’Epargne CEPAC, Natixis Payments, and Worldline.
