This large urban area in the south of France and its partners Conduent, Caisse d’Epargne CEPAC, and VISA are extending the availability of the Open Payment solution across the entire public transport network, gradually offering passengers a contactless payment option via their bankcards or smartphones on all of the conurbation’s public transport systems.
Digital payment solutions have become an important complementary tool for making urban mobility more efficient, sustainable and attractive. Through this innovative system, the Caisse d’Epargne CEPAC is helping to facilitate the mobility of residents and the many tourists who visit the Aix-Marseille-Provence urban area throughout the year. Existing ticket purchase solutions will continue to remain available as before.
Marseille, home to some of the world’s biggest sporting events, will next year be celebrating the arrival of the Olympic Flame and the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024 for which CEPAC, along with Groupe BPCE, is a Sponsor and Premium Partner. This new service will be a real plus in facilitating travel for the many users during this festive year on buses, metros and tramways in particular.
The Caisse d’Epargne has already supported the cities of Dijon and Lyon in rolling out the Open Payment solution in their respective public transport networks.
