The general public is invited to help choose the flag bearers appointed to lead the French Olympic delegation in Beijing.
A few weeks before the opening ceremony of the next Winter Games in Beijing, the process for choosing the Olympic flag bearers has begun. And, just like for the Tokyo Olympics this summer, the process began with the French National Olympic & Sports Committee (CNOSF) inviting the public to vote for their choice of athlete.
You, too, can join in the vote!
How does it work? Since December 17, 2021 and until January 6, 2022, the public can vote for the athletes (1 woman and 1 man) chosen to be the ‘ambassadors’ of their discipline. Once these ambassadors have been selected – 26 in all – they will be able to apply (if they wish) for consideration in the election of two flag bearers (1 man and 1 woman) chosen to march at the head of the French delegation during the opening ceremony in Beijing on February 4th, 2022.
Among the candidates in the running, three athletes – Justine Braisaz competing in the biathlon event, Maurice Manificat in cross-country skiing, and Bastien Midol in ski cross – are supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes.
Would you like to support our athletes’ applications and join in the adventure? Go to the Facebook page of the French Olympic & Paralympic team. Voting has already begun with the list of biathlon athletes, and two new disciplines will be added every day until January 6 until the end of the voting period.
