Some 40 prize-winning students participating in the 2018 edition of the “Apprendre la Bourse” stock-market education program received their prizes from BPCE, under the patronage of the Finances & Pédagogie* association.
This was the 36th edition and with 102,000 schoolchildren and students from seven different countries participating in the competition, interest in the event shows no sign of slowing down. “Apprendre la Bourse”, is a European educational program steered by Germany’s savings banks and aimed at transmitting knowledge of financial markets to youngsters in a fun manner. The seven prize-winning student teams, one from each country, were welcomed at BPCE on 2 April, with a varied program of discoveries and meetings.
The trophies were awarded by Patrice Cros, Director of Finances & Pédagogie, which coordinates the program in France. They rewarded the teams for their ability to manage a fictitious portfolio of shares over a period of several weeks. Regional prize-winning events were also organized in France’s Hauts de France and Auvergne Limousin regions on March 4 and 12, respectively. The winners in the “schoolchildren” category in each country will also enjoy a trip to Brussels from April 12 to 14.
*Founded by the Caisses d’Epargne in 1957, the Finances & Pédagogie association carries out a variety of educational and awareness-raising measures on the theme of money in life, for the benefit of the general public, young and old alike, at the request of parties involved in the social economy.
