Whether in Rome, Munich, Baie-Comeau (Canada) or Ceske (Czech Republic), the athletes supported by the Group and its companies have performed particularly brilliantly in recent days. New medals have been added to what is already an impressive list of achievements for many of them.
Congratulations to Charlotte Tremble, supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Haut de France within the framework of the Performance Pact, who returned from the European artistic swimming championships with a total of 3 bronze medals won with the French team. Congratulations also to Valentine Fortin, a cyclist supported by the Banque Populaire Rives de Paris via the Performance Pact, who claimed bronze in the team pursuit event with the French team at the European Championships in Munich!
Rayan Helal, a racing cyclist supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes via the Performance Pact, won a superb silver medal in the team sprint along with a bronze in the individual sprint, his first international medal in the individual track racing event.
Laura Tarantola and Claire Bové, two French rowers supported respectively by the Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes and the Banque Populaire Rives de Paris via the Performance Pact, were crowned European silver medalists in the lightweight double sculls event in Munich. Erika Sauzeau, an adaptive rower supported by the Banque Populaire du Nord via the Performance Pact, was also crowned European silver medalist in pararowing along with the French team in a PR3 Mix4+ boat (mixed crew of four)!
Congratulations also to Angèle Hug, an athlete supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Loire Drôme Ardèche via the Performance Pact, who became dual European silver medalist in the team and individual events of the U23 Kayak competition at the Ceske Championships.
Maxime Grousset, a swimmer supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Ile de France via the Performance Pact and by the Bank of New Caledonia, was crowned European Champion in the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay along with the other members of the French team, and won a fine silver medal in the 50m butterfly event.
We must also mention the new medals claimed by Loïc Vergnaud, an athlete supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Loire Drôme Ardèche via the Performance Pact, who came home from the Para-cycling World Championships with a gold medal in the relay and two silver medals in the individual event (Cat. H5). After winning silver in the Time Trial, Florian Jouanny, a para-cyclist supported by the Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes, claimed victory twice in the Handbike World Championships: two gold medals obtained in the Relay and Road Race events respectively (H2 classification)!
Groupe BPCE companies currently support nearly 200 elite sportsmen and women from all over France, notably via the Performance Pact. This program is designed to achieve two objectives: to enable athletes, through sponsorship, training and professional retraining, to calmly pursue both their sporting and professional projects and, in the process, put them in the best possible position to perform well in forthcoming competitions, notably at the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024, which Groupe BPCE is supporting in its capacity as a Premium Partner.
This program also further strengthens the commitment to sport that Groupe BPCE companies have demonstrated for many years.
