Our athletes came to celebrate their medals success with the public in the Trocadéro gardens as part of the ‘Live from the Games’ event.
Sharing and communing with their public: the Trocadéro gardens opposite the Eiffel Tower were the place to be this afternoon! No fewer than 34 French medalists back from Tokyo were expected to be there as of 1pm, starting with the athletes supported by the Group’s companies: the sabre fencer Manon Brunet (CASDEN Banque Populaire), Léonie Périault (Banque Populaire Val de France) or the pair of windsurfers Charline Picon (Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique) and Thomas Goyard (Banque Populaire Méditerranée).
Organized by Paris 2024, the French National Olympic & Sporting Committee (CNOSF), the French Paralympic & Sports Committee (CPSF), along with the City of Paris authorities, the ‘Live from the Games’ event will be staged in the Trocadéro gardens every day during the Tokyo Olympic & Paralympic Games to enable people to experience a unique moment and to come together and share in this international event.
The program includes live broadcasts of sporting competitions on giant screens, meetings with medal winners back from Tokyo along with the greatest French athletes, autograph sessions, initiation to new sports and demonstrations, artistic performances, etc., everything you need to get a foretaste of the ‘Spirit of the Games’ that will be taking Paris by storm in 2024!
Transformed into a veritable showcase for sport, the Trocadéro gardens will also host the European 3×3 Basketball Cup on September 8th. This is a source of pride for the Caisse d’Epargne, which is already an Official Partner of the French 3×3 teams and the FFBB 3×3 Super League, and is stepping up its commitment to this sporting discipline by becoming a Partner of the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup 2021 competition, providing excellent visibility for 3×3 basketball and acting as a test event for Paris 2024.
