Natixis Investment Managers will be holding its international summit on November 7 in Paris. Among the 70 speakers from all over the world are five former Heads of State or Government. These experts will be discussing the key issues currently shaping the new global geopolitical order.

Laurent Mignon, Chairman of the Management Board of Groupe BPCE, François Riahi, Chief Executive Officer of Natixis, and Jean Raby, Chief Executive Officer of Natixis Investment Managers, will be welcoming nearly 500 guests to this event, attended by specialists from the fields of investment, finance, technology, business, as well as political figures and academics, to discuss economic and geopolitical trends of crucial importance for the future of companies and society in general, and of asset management in particular.

“The aim of the Natixis Investment Managers Summit is to illustrate our approach to the world of asset management, bringing together experts from a wide range of backgrounds to challenge conventional wisdom. Our speakers are different, at times atypical and provocative, but they all bring interesting insights and do not hesitate to challenge the status quo,” explained Jean Raby, “Our customers want to hear original points of view and share a long-term vision. Our summit is something new. Rather than emphasizing short-term trends, we have decided to focus on the key challenges that will shape the world of tomorrow, and in particular the management sector, for future generations.”

François Riahi added: “At Natixis, we aim to build a sustainable, long-lasting business model by supporting our customers over the long term. The Natixis Investment Managers Summit was designed on this basis, with the aim of putting today's economic and political fluctuations into perspective and helping our customers to make the informed decisions the future demands.”

The first debate at this summit will be a discussion between the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and Prince of the Royal Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This discussion on “The New World Geopolitical Order” will provide an opportunity to address the complex interconnections of international relations and the way in which governments and institutions can use their authority to stabilize the balance of power.

The closing debate, entitled “The Future World: A Presidential Perspective,” will be a unique and historic dialogue between former European Heads of State or Government, including the former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, the former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and the former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. These three dignitaries will share their experience of power to decipher the major issues of today, present their vision of the future and their recommendations for dealing with the world's turbulence. This session will be moderated by journalist Marie Drucker and Jean Raby.

The other presentations will cover the following topics:

“Ten years after the crisis: what consequences and what future”: two major players during the economic crisis, Alistair Darling, former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Chris Dodd, Senior Counsel at Arnold & Porter and former US Senator, co-author of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and Ann Pettifor, a specialist who predicted this crisis several years prior to the event and Director of Prime Economics, will take part in this debate.

“Mid-term elections in the United States: an instant analysis”: in the aftermath of the long-awaited elections in the United States, a debate will bring together the former White House Chief of Staff under the administration of President George Bush, Andrew H.
