April 1989-April 2019: 30 years of Sailing Passion for Banque Populaire

On April 23, 1989, the Bank of the world of sailing took its first steps. 30 years ago, the skipper Francis Joyon slipped lines in the nautical history of Banque Populaire by starting a transatlantic round trip race to St. Barthelemy.

Since this first race, Banque Populaire completed three round the world races, thirty-nine transatlantic, more than forty ocean races. It has won the most famous events such as the Vendée Globe and the Route du Rhum, beaten seventeen of the most prestigious records like the Jules Verne Trophy or the crossing of the North Atlantic, fitted eleven offshore racing boats out, and built five trimarans at the forefront of technology.
In 30 years, Banque Populaire has co-financed more than 70 000 lifejackets, more than 10 000 sails and 170 000 sailing clothes alongside the French Sailing Federation, and has enabled the restoration and the protection of the maritime heritage with the sponsorship of Eric Tabarly Association. It has accompanied the French Olympic Team and all its athletes since 5 Olympiads. For 30 years, Banque Populaire has been sharing the passion and emotions of sailing.

The adventure goes on.
