Groupe BPCE wins a trophy for its engagement with sport
During the Sport & Management Trophies 2019 event held on the evening of April 10, Laurent Mignon, Chairman of the Management Board, received the “Business-Decision Maker of the Year Trophy”.
The award recognizes the enduring engagement of Groupe BPCE and its different brands in the field of sport.
As a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games since January 1, 2019 and a partner of France’s National Olympics and Sports Committee (CNOSF) since 2009, Groupe BPCE and its brands have been supporting sport in France for many years: the Banques Populaires have been engaged with sailing for over 30 years, the Caisses d’Epargne with handball, basketball and skiing, and Natixis with rugby.
Groupe BPCE partners sport and disabled sport, but is also and above all a fully-fledged player in the sports economy. This engagement is visible on a day-to-day basis in all the regions where the group operates, particularly for the support it provides for sports businesses and professionals, for local government authorities with sports-infrastructure financing, and for clubs and associations.
The Sport & Management Trophies, for which Crédit Coopératif is a partner, aim to bring the worlds of sport and business closer together. "These Trophies are designed to highlight how economic actors understand and engage with sport and help not only to develop an ecosystem through their engagements, but also how they use their exemplarity and appetite for sport internally to produce cultural changes that enable more employees and organizations to appreciate and reap the benefits of what sport can bring", explained Jean-Luc Sadik, Chairman of TPS Conseil, which organizes the event.
