Committed to the “cancer, chronic diseases, and work” initiative since 2016, Groupe BPCE has hosted the annual Cancer@work symposium for the very first time.
“The Pacte Act*: a legal constraint or an opportunity?” This was the topic of the round-table discussion at the 7th symposium organized on World Cancer Day, Tuesday, February 4, by the association set up in 2012 to raise awareness about this disease in the world of work. The speakers discussed several key issues: the need to change attitudes towards cancer, the social and economic challenges of keeping employees in their jobs, and support for patients and caregivers. In 2019, twenty Group companies were involved in the "cancer, chronic diseases, and work" initiative.
The creation of a network of ambassadors
The association reviewed their activities in 2019, including the creation of a label, and presented their new initiatives for 2020: a platform dedicated to member companies enabling them to exchange best practices and the creation of a network of ambassadors.
Anne Liardet, the first Cancer@work ambassador
Anne Liardet, the yachtswoman, has notably competed in the Vendée Globe and the Route du Rhum sailing races. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, she decided to wear the colors of the association during the Mini Transat, a solo transatlantic race without assistance on board a 6.5m racing yacht.
