Groupe BPCE confirms its leadership in Digital banking

Banque Populaire and the Caisse d'Epargne obtained the highest level among French banks in terms of traffic volume, engagement, and satisfaction in the latest D-Rating analysis.

While the Banque Populaire banks and Caisses d'Epargne have mobilized massively to ensure the continuity of banking services by leaving 90% of their branches open to customers, digital access to banking services has acquired even greater importance in recent weeks.

Proof of their maturity in this area, our two retail banking networks obtained the highest level among French banks in terms of traffic volume, engagement, and satisfaction in the latest D-Rating analysis, conducted from February 2 to March 28, 2020, at a time when the health crisis tightened its grip in the different European countries with the adoption of lockdown measures.
For the corporate digital performance rating agency, which studied 16 retail banks in four European countries, the Groupe BPCE brands – Banque Populaire and Caisse d'Epargne – rise above their French peers with stronger positions regarding mobile application use, joining the category of the historically most advanced players in this area: the British and Spanish banks.
This fine performance, achieved in these difficult times, is the result of the Digital Inside strategy pursued within the Group over the past two years and the strong, day-to-day commitment of all its local and regional employees to quality of service and availability to customers, a priority for the Tech & Digital teams.

Groupe BPCE's brands had already distinguished themselves in the previous D-Rating study published last January on the level of use of digital channels and app satisfaction, with a significant increase in their performance in 2019 compared with 2018.
