Natixis structures the largest green loan in the transportation sector

Natixis is supporting Italy's leading private rail operator (Italo – Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori) in the pursuit of its sustainable development objectives by providing it with an innovative financing solution.

Natixis has structured a comprehensive financing solution comprising a €200 million revolving credit facility to provide general corporate funding and a €900 million green loan to finance and refinance the company’s low-carbon rolling stock. This is the largest green loan ever granted in the transportation sector and the first to incorporate sustainable development targets. The operation was also hedged by a sustainability-linked derivative.
