Sailing: record broken by Banque du Léman in the Tour of the British Isles race

On the evening of Monday August 24th, the Class40 Banque du Léman broke the record for the Tour of the British Isles, slashing some ten hours off the previous fastest time.

The Swiss crew of the Class40 Banque du Leman racing yacht – comprised of Justine Mettraux, Valentin Gautier, and Simon Koster – crossed the finish line in 7 days 6 hours 27 minutes and 25 seconds, thereby setting a new record (subject to ratification by the WSSRC) in the category of boats no longer than 40 feet held since July earlier this year by Ian Lipinski on Crédit Mutuel

A fine performance for this boat supported by the Banque du Léman, the Swiss subsidiary of the Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes, considering that this record is held in one of the most prestigious races in Europe.
