A week to celebrate sport and good health!

The ‘Olympic & Paralympic Week’ is being staged from February 1 to 6, 2021. Groupe BPCE and its companies are fully engaged in this event.

A week to celebrate sport, to enable all French people to try their hand at a host of different disciplines and, above all, to focus the public’s attention on the benefits of physical and sporting activities for young people in a context where taking care of oneself, maintaining daily physical activity, and having fun at the same time are key to good health.

From Paris to Marseilles via Nantes and Strasbourg...

As a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games, Groupe BPCE is fully engaged in this event through its different brands. The Olympic & Paralympic Week represents an opportunity for the Group's companies to mobilize their athletes supported under the Performance Pact such as, for example, Jules Ribstein, the world, European and French para-triathlon champion sponsored by the Caisse d'Epargne Grand Est-Europe, or the gymnast Marine Boyer, European silver medalist on the balance beam in 2016, sponsored by Crédit Coopératif.

Banque Populaire Méditerranée, for its part, will invite schools in Marseilles to take part in the 2021 Olympic & Paralympic Week with a focus on three areas of activity: sailing, surfing, and the sea. The program includes a whole series of activities: sporting events and ‘muscular awakening’ sessions on the school premises with athletes belonging to the BPMED Sailing Team and national French Sailing Team, the organization of short sea trips, a web conference on surfing, disability and innovation, an environmental awareness workshop, waste collection in a local cove, introduction to para sailing, etc. This highly paced week is designed to raise awareness among the younger generations about the need to protect the sea and change people’s attitudes to disability.

Finally, just like last year, Casden will provide strong backing and coverage of the event. The bank will be calling on the services of Manon Genest, a paralympic athlete and world para-triathlon champion in 2016, along with its representatives in schools with 61 projects submitted, 82 educational establishments involved, 854 classes mobilized, and 18,113 students made more aware of these issues.

Active sessions for Paris 2024

Paris 2024 will also show a high degree of mobilization throughout the Week. International athletes will lead active 30-minute sessions of physical and sporting activities accessible online, organized every day of the week, thereby demonstrating the wealth and diversity of Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Let's all join in the activities staged during the Olympic & Paralympic Week!
