Marie Oteiza: brimming with confidence before Tokyo!

The French athlete, supported by the Group’s sponsorship program, won a fine victory in the Modern Pentathlon World Cup.

Marie Oteiza, who has already qualified for Tokyo, is continuing her preparation in the best possible way with just over 100 days to go before the start of the Olympic Games. Last Friday, the 27-year-old pentathlete won the second stage of the World Cup in Sofia, Bulgaria. Coming fifth in swimming, fifth in fencing, sixth in horseback riding, Marie began the final combined running and shooting event as overall favorite. At the end of the competition, she ranked ahead of the British Kate French and the Polish Anna Maliszewska.

With this success, Marie Oteiza is brimming with confidence a little less than four months before Tokyo and her competitions scheduled for August 5 and 6. Before that, the 2018 European pentathlon champion will return to Hungary from May 13 to 16 for the World Cup final to complete the ultimate fine-tuning of her performance before setting off for Japan.
