For their first game, the French men’s basketball team faced the United States. Thanks to their magnificent performance, they beat the reigning team in style! What a great start! On the other hand, the day proved to be more difficult for the women’s team in 3×3 basketball, but the group matches haven’t finished yet…

In sailing, the first day of racing was promising and the French made their mark on the superb venue of Enoshima, in Sagami Bay. Charline Picon (RS:X) and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz (ILCA 7) each won their respective races and are both ranked first in the provisional rankings. Thomas Goyard (RS:X) from New Caledonia is in 6th place despite a poor first run. Marie Bolou (ILCA 6), on the other hand, had been hoping to do better than her disappointing 32nd place.

In women’s handball, the French team won its first match against Hungary, after some tense moments.

For their part, the 4 members of the French surfing team all continued the competition into the round of 16: a perfect run!

The gymnast Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos got her ticket for the final of the individual all-around event, and she’ll be participating in the team final of the all-around event with the French gymnastics team.
