After qualifying this morning for the quarterfinals, the women's 3X3 basketball team is continuing its adventure by claiming a place in the semifinals after their victory over the Japanese. They will be facing the United States in the semifinals on Wednesday morning (10:00 am in France).

After an initial narrow victory against Hungary (30-29), the French women’s handball team lost their match this afternoon against the Spanish (28-25) in their second group game. Their next (decisive) match will pit them against the Swedes – who remain undefeated – this Thursday at 14:30.

Lastly, Marine Boyer and Melanie de Jesus Dos Santos along with the French women’s gymnastics team ended the competition with an honorable 6th place in the team rankings.

With regard to individual performances, Maxime Grousset passed the 100m freestyle heats and will be competing tonight (03h00) in the semi-finals.

Léonie Periault came in 5th in the triathlon after putting up a superb performance. She achieved the best result for a Frenchwoman at the Games since the discipline first became an Olympic sport in 2000.

Ranking 6th in mountain biking, Loana Lecomte unfortunately fell short of winning an Olympic medal.
