Natural capital as an investment opportunity

Mirova, a management company specializing in sustainable investment affiliated to Natixis Investment Managers, made two major announcements at the Summit.
Firstly, the Alliance for Investment in Natural Capital was created in association with the Lombard Odier bank and HBSC Pollination Asset Management. Promoted by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales within the framework of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, this Alliance sets out in particular to raise $10 billion for Natural Capital and, in so doing, to make it a real investment opportunity across different asset classes.

At the same time, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that his country would invest in Mirova’s LDN strategy (Land Degradation Neutrality). This means that Canada will contribute up to C$55 million to the fund to support the financing of projects that combat land degradation and promote sustainable agriculture that benefits communities. As a reminder, the LDN strategy is part of the natural capital investment platform and Nature-Based Solutions that Mirova has been developing for almost 5 years*.

Through these announcements, Mirova is positioning itself more than ever as a key player in sustainable finance both in Europe and in the international arena, capable of offering its clients investment solutions that combine a striving for financial performance with a positive environmental and social impact.
