News from Beijing #1

After the opening ceremony, the time for the competitions has finally come!

The Caisse d'Epargne, a partner of the French Ski Federation since 1996 and of the French Olympic Team since 2010, has been sharing the excitement of the first events and first medals since the competitions kicked off this weekend.

In bitterly cold weather, the mixed biathlon relay team comprised of Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet, Julia Simon, Emilien Jacquelin, and Quentin Fillon Maillet won a magnificent silver medal, the first for the French delegation. A silver medal for the biathlon once again was awarded to Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet in the women's 15km individual event.

In the spectacular downhill skiing event, Johan Clarey became, at 41 years old, the oldest Olympic medalist in alpine skiing, with a well-deserved second place.

Finally, the young Tess Ledeux in the women’s big air freestyle event obtained a fine medal, also silver.
