Groupe BPCE in the place of honor at the IJGlobal ESG Awards
Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Vauban Infrastructure Partners, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, were honored by IJGlobal magazine on October 19 for their role in the energy transition.
This is the second time that the two Groupe BPCE entities have won these awards created by the benchmark magazine in the project and infrastructure finance industry: in 2021 for Natixis CIB, and last year for Vauban Infrastructure Partners.
Natixis CIB was named ‘ESG Bank of the Year’ in the infrastructure and energy sector. The panel of judges noted that the bank "has demonstrated a clear impact and the successful development of an innovative methodology,” notably with the Green Weighting Factor, a capital allocation mechanism that ranks each financing operation according to its climate impact. The panel also praised Natixis CIB's commitment to the continued promotion of the energy transition and renewable energies, and recognized its leading role in infrastructure financing (see the article "Groupe BPCE among the world Top 10 in infrastructure financing”).
In awarding the Environment Prize to Vauban Infrastructure Partners, the voters emphasized that its “commitment to sustainable practices and alignment with the objectives and investment history of the Paris Agreement are exemplary.”
Gwenola Chambon, CEO and founding partner of the asset management company affiliated to Natixis IM, also won the IJGlobal ESG Lifetime Achievement award for her leadership. The panel applauded her as “a truly impressive person who has played a pioneering role in this field.”
