Helping to speed up the ecological transition in our regions

To support its customers in their energy transition, the Caisse d'Epargne Bretagne Pays de Loire is heightening their awareness of possible hydrogen-based solutions.

Taking advantage of a conference on the theme of “Hydrogen, what are the challenges for the future?,” the Caisse d’Epargne Bretagne Pays de Loire working with the Banque des Territoires, brought together a number of energy transition experts from Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking along with the captain and founding chairman of the autonomous Energy Observer vessel, and a representative from Lhyfe, a producer and supplier of green and renewable hydrogen. These speakers were able to bring their expertise and advice to the proceedings and talk with some 40 customers about the emergence of low-carbon hydrogen and the challenges linked to the energy transition.
Solutions based on hydrogen,* solar and wind energy, tested on the Energy Observer laboratory ship to produce clean energy, make it possible to drastically reduce polluting emissions with applications in a host of areas ranging from transportation to manufacturing or tourism.

Groupe BPCE is the principal partner of the Energy Observer, the first autonomous hydrogen-powered ship acting as an advocate of, and laboratory for, the ecological transition. Through this partnership, Groupe BPCE supports a project designed to develop hydrogen-based technical solutions while simultaneously rolling out financing tools tailored to these new technologies and the generation of green energy.

* Low-carbon hydrogen, i.e. produced by the electrolysis of water using renewable or low-carbon sources of energy.
