Of the four medals won by French competitors at the World Para-Athletics Championships staged in Paris from July 8 to 17, three went to para-athletes supported by Groupe BPCE companies.
Timothée Adolphe, an athlete supported by Banque Populaire Val de France, won two bronze medals in the 400m and 100m sprint in the T11 category for visually impaired competitors. With this fine performance, the 33-year-old athlete gave France its second and third bronze medals after Manon Genest, supported by CASDEN Banque Populaire, claimed France’s first medal in these World Championships the day before in the long jump event, competing in the T37 category, with a jump of 4m76, breaking her personal record.
No fewer than 1,700 physically, visually, psychologically or mentally disabled athletes from 120 different countries were present at the Charlety stadium in southeast Paris, including 33 French competitors, one year ahead of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
