Our athletes share their secrets... Podcast with Carlota Dudek, breaking

Carlota Dudek, sponsored by the Caisse d'Epargne CEPAC via the Performance Pact Foundation, answered our questions when taking part in one of the challenges organized by the Paris 2024 Club.

“I’m 18 years old and launching a two-pronged project: I'm starting a 2-year technical diploma in business management and I intend to enroll at the CREPS* in Montpellier. I took up breakdancing at the age of 6 in elementary school. The particularity of my discipline is that there’s a whole sequence performed on the floor with acrobatic and lift moves. In competitions, battles are organized between individuals or teams, and a panel of judges chooses the winner.
My partnership with the Caisse d'Epargne goes beyond mere financial support; I can count on its presence at my side, advice, and encouragement.
The challenge organized by Club Paris 2024 created the conditions for a wonderful moment shared with some of the club members who came to pit themselves against us. They were really enthusiastic about spending this time together, and they gave us a huge boost in terms of motivation and energy.
The 2024 Paris Games are a huge event for breaking, which will be an Olympic discipline for the first time. It’s fantastic recognition for our sport. People still talk about breaking as a kind of street dance… but it has evolved and enjoyed massive media attention… Personally, I first discovered it at school. The 2024 Paris Games will enable us to highlight the twofold dimension of my discipline, which is both an art form and a sport. I’m looking forward to giving my utmost to be included in the competition!”
