With ten months to go before the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024, the “Mission Paris 2024” event mobilized nearly 900 people actively contributing to the partnership on September 14 and 15.
Senior managers, Olympic ambassadors, volunteer candidates, representatives from our business lines, athletes supported by the Group’s companies, etc. came together to form a like-minded community at the Paris Longchamp hippodrome, to share the pride of partnering this unique adventure, and to prepare for the project’s up-coming milestones.
Discussions focused on the major themes of the partnership: the torch relay, the hospitality program, employee commitment, the Cultural Olympiad, the Group’s “Sport Health” initiative, etc. providing participants with a wealth of opportunities to get informed, develop new ideas, receive training, and exchange points of view with other people…
In the inaugural evening session organized in the presence of Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024, Nicolas Namias, Chairman of the Management Board of BPCE, restated the Group’s determination to be a useful partner, working to ensure the success of this event: “Being the Bank of Sport gives tangible expression to our commitment to Paris 2024 along with our long-term commitment to sport in all the territories where we are present. We want to support the operational success of the Games at the same time as the development of the sports economy in France!”
Friday also featured tributes delivered by Guillaume Gille, coach of the French Handball team supported by Caisse d’Epargne, and Pauline Ado, a surfer supported by Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique, on the importance of getting prepared just a few months ahead of the Games…
A keen sense of enthusiasm and positive energy were palpable during this 2-day event, which set out to be both useful and unifying in the final stretch before Paris 2024: Mission accepted!
