Last Saturday, September 26, the Racing 92 rugby team qualified for its third European final in 4 years.
After knocking out ASM Clermont-Auvergne in the quarter-finals, Racing 92 defeated the Saracens (the defending champions) in a suspense-filled match.
As a result, the 2019-2020 Champions Cup season is not yet over… to the delight of Racing 92 fans. The team sporting sky blue and white jerseys kicked the English team out of the European championships after a match similar in many respects to a game of chess. In a very tight competition, the Ile-de-France team did well thanks to their closed scrums and their bench of reserve players, always full of resources and young talent. It was not an easy victory (19-15) but one that allowed Racing 92 to obtain their ticket to the European Cup final.
Rendezvous on October 17 for an exceptional match against Exeter (who beat Toulouse in their own semi-final encounter on Saturday) when Racing 92 will pull out all the stops to win its first European title!
Actively supporting the Racing 92 rugby team since 2007, Natixis has accompanied the club as it won a series of major titles. Natixis is proud not only to have seen the team evolve over the years (it won the Brennus shield – the trophy awarded to the winners of the French rugby union league – in 2016 in exceptional circumstances in Barcelona in front of a crowd of 98,000 spectators, and has competed in two European Cup finals in recent years) as well as to support one of the foremost training centers in the TOP14.
