Two Groupe BPCE companies – BRED and Natixis – are partners of the Aix-en-Provence Economic Forums whose meeting this year has been named “Aix-en-Seine.”
The Les Rencontres Economiques d’Aix-en-Provence economic forums, created by the Cercle des économistes think tank in 2001, have become over the years major economic events both in France and around the world.
This year’s forum, to be held from July 3 – 5 against the very special backdrop of the health and economic crisis, will bring together nearly 400 players from the world of economics, politics and society to discuss the theme “Responding to disorders facing the world: we’ll pull through!” and to share their thoughts on the three major challenges ahead of us: creating the conditions for a dynamic and socially inclusive society; developing a major, openly debated plan in pursuit of shared objectives; and renewing pan-European and international relations.
Participants will include Olivier Klein, the Chief Executive Officer of BRED, and François Riahi, Chief Executive Officer of Natixis. Both will speak on Saturday July 4 on issues of greater topical interest than ever for the banking industry at a time marked by the adoption of economic recovery measures. The former will speak at the online session devoted to “Low interest rates to preserve an indebted economy” while the latter will contribute to the session “Putting finance back into the service of the economy.”
The general public is also invited to join in the debate by logging on to the forum website. Members of the public will then be able to contribute to the discussions by sharing their ideas and proposals, and by asking questions about the different topics covered by the symposium. These contributions will enrich the live discussions organized during the sessions.
It should be noted that young people have also been given a chance to express themselves at the forum thanks to the La Parole aux 18-28 ans (“Let 18-to-28-year-olds have their say”) initiative. Four Groupe BPCE employees are included among the 100 young people selected to take part in the event.
Full details and the complete program can be found on the forum website.
