Since October 25, Saint Malo has been dressed up in the colors of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe!
On Sunday, November 6, a total of 138 boats will set sail from Saint Malo to compete in this legendary transatlantic race, covering a distance of 3,542 nautical miles (or 6,562 km) to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe. This twelfth edition of the race is expected to attract nearly 2.2 million visitors.
The public will be able to enjoy a multitude of activities during the 13 days of the Sailing Village, which is free and accessible to all. Come and admire the Maxi Banque Populaire XI in the Vauban basin at the foot of the citadel, encourage Armel Le Cléac’h, talk with the Team or simply enjoy the atmosphere of Saint Malo!
Banque Populaire Grand Ouest will have a stand in the Village throughout the 13-day period, and will be organizing activities every day.
Note the presence on October 24 of the Belem, the last great French merchant ship from the 19th century still sailing, of which the Caisse d’Epargne is the long-standing sponsor. There will also be the exhibition village devoted to Energy Observer, of which Groupe BPCE is one of the principal partners, providing young and old visitors alike with a truly educational experience focused on hydrogen and the odyssey of the Energy Observer laboratory vessel.
