The Paris 2024 Olympic Flame finally landed on French soil in Marseille on Wednesday May 8, sparking a series of popular celebrations.

It’s here at long last! After a 12-day crossing on the Belem, the legendary three-masted sailing vessel belonging to the Belem Caisse d’Epargne Foundation sponsored by the Caisses d’Epargne, the Paris 2024 Olympic Flame was welcomed by the city of Marseille in a wave of celebrations. One of the highlights of this exceptional day was the staging of a majestic entry into the Old Port followed by an unprecedented maritime parade.

Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne, Official Sponsors of the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay, were fully mobilized to ensure the event was an unforgettable moment of public festivities. A great many events had been planned for the occasion with the sole aim of giving life to the spirit of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 for as many people as possible, in every region of France.

The Flame has set out on its Tour de France

The Flame will now wend its way across France on a 68-day journey, passing through more than 400 towns and cities and staying at 65 stopover points. The 11,000 bearers of the Paris 2024 Olympic Flame, including more than a thousand customers and employees chosen by Groupe BPCE and its companies, will carry the torch in stages on a journey to celebrate the different French regions, before the flame sets the cauldron ablaze at the Olympics opening ceremony on July 26. All along this exhilarating tour, Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne will be fully involved in promoting the men and women they support on a daily basis, and in helping to showcase all the different regions of France.
