Clarisse is in her 6th week of the 2020 Vendée Globe. This week, Armel Le Cléac’h, who won the 2016-2017 round-the-world race flying the colors of Banque Populaire, offers his analysis of Clarisse’s performance.

To comment on Clarisse’s sixth week, Armel Le Cléac’h, the current title holder and Banque Populaire skipper, reviews her progress as she sailed past the Kerguelen Islands, the freezing temperatures she encountered aboard the Mono Banque Populaire X, her 12th place in the general rankings, her “struggle” against Romain Attannasio, and her rounding of Cape Leeuwin!
On Wednesday, Clarisse passed the second milestone in this round-the-world race: Cape Leeuwin on the southwestern tip of Australia. She is currently sailing in 12th position along the edge of the ice zone and approaching the “furious fifties” and the passage into the Pacific Ocean. Everything is going well aboard the Mono Banque Populaire X, which has been making good progress over the past few days with good average speeds enabling her to reduce the distance between her and the boat ahead!
