The French Surfing Team became world champions in El Salvador after delivering a set of fine performances.
Joan Duru was crowned World Champion and Pauline Ado qualified as the 4th French competitor (two women and two men) for Tokyo this summer. Pauline joins Johanne Defay, Michel Bourez and Jérémy Florès, who had already qualified before the World Surfing Games.
France will be one of the six nations – along with the United States, Brazil, Australia, Japan and Peru – to go to Tokyo with the full quota of athletes (i.e. 4). With 50 days to go before the opening ceremony, the French team is sending out a strong signal by dominating Japan and Portugal in the overall ranking.
As an official partner of the French Surfing Federation since 2019, Banque Populaire will be supporting the French Surfing Team as it competes in the Olympic Games for the very first time.
