On January 1, 2019, Groupe BPCE, with all its companies – Banque Populaire, Caisse d’Epargne, Natixis, CASDEN, Crédit Coopératif and Banque Palatine – officially became the first Premium Partner of Paris 2024. For five years, this partnership represented a fine opportunity for our Group to mobilize its collective energy.
This partnership complemented and reinforced the long-standing commitment of our brands to various sports: sailing, surfing, skiing, handball, basketball, as well as rugby, golf and triathlon. Throughout this partnership (2019-2024), the Group and its brands were also partners of the French Olympic & Paralympic team.
The partnership with Paris 2024 also helped express something fundamental about who and what we are, and about the values we defend every day: team spirit, the desire to surpass oneself, and social solidarity.
The Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024 were much more than a mere sporting event; they enabled our Group to continue providing highly concrete responses to the challenges currently facing all the different aspects of our society. The organization of Paris 2024 represented an historic opportunity to bring about a long-term transformation of our country for the benefit of all French people.
We are proud to have contributed to an event that accompanied the transformation of our Group up to 2024 and far beyond. It represents a clear testimony to our ability to mobilize our strengths and to look to the future, about which we can rightly feel a sense of collective pride.
Much more than a commitment related to public image and entered into for marketing purposes, our partnership fueled our ambition to become the leading banking player in the sports economy.
To achieve this objective – which goes well beyond Paris 2024 – our actions revolve around several key areas:
• Join in the efforts made by the host territories to finance infrastructure, transport and logistics facilities at the sporting venues
• Express our local and regional specificities so that each Group company can position itself in terms of its geographical presence, actions, and commitments
• Strengthen our attractiveness by further embodying our policy in terms of gender diversity, disability, recruitment, etc.
• Promote our companies by giving greater visibility to our brands, and highlight our sporting commitments by giving concrete expression both within and outside the Group to our positioning in the world of sport.
The banks in the Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne retail networks shared the pride of being Official Sponsors of the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Torch Relays.
With a strong and firmly rooted presence in the various regions of France, Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne were committed to promoting these exceptional events across the entire country. Fully dedicated to supporting all participants in the sports economy, they seized this incredible opportunity to bolster their initiatives designed to foster sporting practices and social inclusion via sport across our regions.
