On January 1, 2019, Groupe BPCE, with all its companies – the Banque Populaire, Caisse d'Epargne, Natixis, CASDEN, Crédit Coopératif and Banque Palatine – officially became the first Premium Partner of Paris 2024, offering our Group a fine opportunity to mobilize its collective energy.
First of all, this partnership extends the commitment to sport that our brands have upheld consistently for many years: sailing, skiing, handball, basketball, rugby and now surfing. With this partnership, the group and its brands will also be partners of the French Olympic & Paralympic teams until 2024.
The partnership whith Paris 2024 also expresses something fundamental about who and what we are, and about the values we defend every day: team spirit, the desire to excel, social solidarity. We, in our capacity as cooperative bankers, fully share these values of humanism and achievement with the Olympic movement.
Paris 2024 is much more than a mere sporting event; it enables our group to continue providing highly concrete responses to the challenges currently facing all the different aspects of our society. These Olympic & Paralympics Games represent an historic opportunity to bring about a long-term transformation of our country for the benefit of all French people.
We will be actively involved in a project that will accompany the transformation of our group until 2024 and beyond. It represents a clear testimony to our ability to mobilize our strengths and to look to the future… about which we can rightly feel a strong sense of pride.
The partnership with Paris 2024 goes beyond a commitment entered into merely for public image and marketing purposes. It actively helps us to achieve our ambition to become the leading banking player in the sports economy. With this objective in mind, our actions revolve around several core objectives:
• Join in the efforts made by the host territories to finance infrastructure, transport and logistics facilities at the sporting venues.
• Express our local and regional specificities so that each group company can position itself in terms of its geographical presence, actions, and commitments.
• Strengthen our attractiveness by further embodying our policy in terms of gender diversity, disability, recruitment, etc.
• Promote our companies by giving greater visibility to our brands, and highlight our sporting commitments by giving concrete expression to our positioning in the world of sport, both within and outside the group.
Finally, with Groupe BPCE, the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee enjoys the support of a partner present throughout metropolitan and overseas France in contact with nearly one out of every two French people, which is the leading bank for SMEs and supports more than 5,000 sports associations through corporate sponsoring or patronage actions.
The Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne banks are also the Presenting Partners for the Paris 2024 torch relays.
With a strong and firmly rooted presence in the various regions of France, the Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne banks are committed to promoting these exceptional events across the entire country. They are fully dedicated to supporting all participants in the sports economy and this fresh commitment offers an incredible opportunity to bolster their initiatives that foster sporting practices and social inclusion via sport across our regions.
