Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique (BPACA) is a cooperative and community-based bank, a financial institution founded in Nouvelle-Aquitaine itself, owned by its cooperative shareholders and boasting strong roots in its local region. The savings deposits collected locally are reinvested entirely in regional projects.
Every day, BPACA applies the full strength of its cooperative model to serve the men and women who live and do business in its local catchment areas, creating a dynamic local ecosystem driven by interaction between its customers, cooperative shareholders, employees and large network of partners.
Represented by men and women drawn from the region, BPACA is committed to providing its customers and cooperative shareholders with advice aligned with their very best interests.
Founded by and for entrepreneurs, and ranked as the No.1 bank for businesses in France for 16 years in succession*, BPACA demonstrated its continuing commitment to its founding principles by creating, 18 years ago, the Néo Aquitains Economic Awards in partnership with newspaper Sud-Ouest and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region with a view to showcasing, every year, the region’s most outstanding companies.
Already heavily engaged in preserving its local environment, BPACA drives extremely pragmatic environmental initiatives capable of having a positive impact on Nouvelle-Aquitaine and its residents, promoting biodiversity and protecting water resources, such as through the eco-pastoral restoration of the wet heathlands at the Hostens nature reserve, led by the Gironde Department.
* Kantar 2025 study: “SMEs and Banks”
Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique (BPACA) supports more than 100 clubs affiliated with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Sailing League in their sailing and parasailing activities. It is the long-standing partner of the Cercle de Voile Arcachon and La Rochelle Nautique sailing clubs and of the France Voile sailing training center in La Rochelle, as well as supporting the Extrême Cordouan nautical gliding and sailing festival in Royan.
Since 2021, it has been supporting the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Surf League, a sport that, like sailing, celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit. It has set up partnerships with a sport, a federation, and individual athletes committed to the preservation of the environment: supporting 64 regional clubs and events such as the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Surf Championships or the Lacanau Pro professional surf competition.
True to its cooperative values and driven by its determination to create a positive regional impact, BPACA pursues a highly active sponsorship policy founded on two core principles: GROW, by fostering entrepreneurship, education, and cultural know-how, and PRESERVE, by promoting health and protecting the environment, water, and biodiversity.
