Activities

For more than 125 years, Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes has been providing its clientele of private individuals, artisans, small retailers, farmers, self-employed professionals, and business organizations with the support of its expertise in banking and insurance. The corporate purpose of this regional cooperative bank, whose capital is owned by its 369,000 cooperative shareholders, is “to build a sustainable and responsible future alongside the men and women living and doing business in our territories.” This mission guides its choices for the future and defines what motivates its teams in the pursuit of their day-to-day work.

With its 3,200 employees, it currently serves nearly 1 million clients throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and in the Hautes-Alpes, Alpes de Haute-Provence, and Corrèze départements. Active in the fields of new business creation and transmission, it boasts a comprehensive range of specialized business lines and highly sophisticated offerings enabling it to provide a service that combines expertise with a strong local presence. A bank capable of innovation when it accompanies its customers in the realization of their most ambitious dreams, it never loses sight of what is most important: the quality of the personal relationship developed between a project initiator and his or her advisor. In 2024, BPAURA contributed to the development of the regional economy by distributing a total of €4.5 billion in loans to both individual and business customers.

Focused on responsibility and committed to addressing the key challenges of the day, BPAURA launched the Banque de la Transition Énergétique (BTE, or the ‘Bank of the Energy Transition’) in 2020 to support green savings and to fund energy and environmental transition projects in the region. Four years after its creation, BTE has stayed true to its mission, raising a significant €443 million in green savings from individual customers and providing €622 million in loans for renewable energy and energy renovation projects.

Sport & Patronage

BPAURA positions itself as a key partner for stakeholders in the mountain economy and for the people who live there, working closely with them to support their growth and transition efforts and ensure the sustainability of mountain life. Convinced of the essential role played by sport in maintaining and developing the economic and social vitality of local communities, and building on the legacy of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024, BPAURA is pursuing this commitment with its support for its team of 13 elite athletes.

The BPAURA Corporate Foundation, which was founded in 2020 to nurture the bank’s corporate purpose and its cooperative, community-focused values, plays its role to the full in this area. Since its creation, it has supported and funded more than 350 projects and general-interest initiatives in the region, providing €3.1 million across its four core areas of activity: culture, education, health, and social integration.
