For the Caisse d'Epargne, several passions
The Caisse d'Epargne, a major partner of handball, basketball and skiing in France, has long been an energetic and passionate supporter of sports that unite and celebrate living together, in line with its cooperative values… sports that are rooted in local and regional France, accessible to all, and driven by popular enthusiasm. In addition to these ‘major’ team sports, the Caisse d'Epargne is also involved in their related disciplines such as basketball, 3x3 basketball, beach handball, etc.
Basketball and handball
The Caisse d'Epargne supports two collective sports that are extremely popular in France: basketball and handball. A partner of the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) since the summer of 2014 and of the French Handball Federation (FFHB) since January 2015, it supports, in particular, the national French teams in these two disciplines. In 2019, it also became a partner of 3x3 basketball, a new Olympic discipline in 2020.
Team spirit, dynamism, and high performance are values shared by the French savings banks, enabling them not only to support the men’s and women’s national French teams but also to accompany outstanding projects such as major international sporting events.
French handball: an incredible success story!
Having already won a great many competitions, the France handball teams have added further titles to their impressive record since signing a partnership with the Caisse d'Epargne: for the men, two world titles (2015 and 2017), a silver medal at the Rio Olympics (2016), and a bronze medal at the last World Cup (2019); in the women’s category, a bronze medal at the European Championships (2016) and a first European title (2018), a silver medal in Rio (2016) and the title of world champion in 2017. This partnership with the French Handball Federation will last until 2024.
French basketball: an outstanding track record
Meanwhile, the women basketball players were runners-up in Europe in 2015, 2017 and 2019, while their male counterparts were bronze medalists at the World Championships in 2014 and 2019, and bronze medalists again at the European Championships in 2015. The French 3x3 basketball teams boast an outstanding track record: the men are European vice-champions (2019); and the women, European champions (2019) and bronze medalists at the World Championships in 2019.
